Virginia Beach United was founded in 2019 and began play at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex in the USL League Two - Eastern Conference - South Atlantic Division in May of 2019. In 2022 VBU joined the newly created Chesapeake Division in the Eastern Conference.
The team comes together in the community with the two biggest local soccer clubs, Beach FC and Virginia Rush, working towards the common goal. The two club Presidents, George Albiston (Beach FC) and Danny Speight (VA Rush) brought the two clubs together to help the players in the area have a pathway to develop as players, past their youth clubs, unlike anything been done before in the area.
Partnering with soccer clubs and sports organizations in the area like Chesapeake United, Old Dominion Soccer Club, Virginia Hall of Fame, Hampton Roads Soccer Complex, North American Sand Soccer Championships, Chesapeake Arsenal FC, Western Branch SC, People's Choice FC, OTSL, and SEVWSA brings the whole Coastal Virginia soccer community together as one.
The Virginia Beach Sportsplex is located in Virginia Beach, VA. This multi-level facility hosts Virginia Rush’s office on the first level and a total of 6,000 seats located on two levels. The field is comprised of a state-of-the-art turf surface. Made with Sportexe’s Advanced MonoTech fiber.
HIGHLIGHTS:
The players are what it’s all about. A major pillar of League Two, they are what the Path2Pro is built for and around. As it always has, League Two will continue to provide a platform for elite pre-professional players to gain high-level experience and exposure. The league’s structure plays a vital role in the American soccer landscape. It serves as a necessary bridge between the youth and professional soccer levels, allowing promising young players to get valuable minutes against top competition and professional scouts to see the best college players. The vast amount of League Two alumni playing professional soccer speaks for itself -- there is no better league to help launch a player’s career.
